Fromis_9 member Park Jiwon said “I will receive my first payment within this year,” during their Weverse live. The other members laughed out of embarrassment after she said this. 

After the live, fans expressed their shock at the group having never been paid. The group is popular and has a strong fandom that always sells out the group's concerts. What's more, the group has been active for 7 years.

Some fans started to think Park Jiwon meant 'the first settlement of the year' rather than the entire 7 year period they've been active.

When questioned about the controversy, Pledis Entertainment only spoke about the group's upcoming promotions.
