 A: Well, the name may remind one of 'hive,' like beehive, 'cause of the pronunciation, but it actually doesn't have a specific meaning. We chose a coined term without any special significance.

Q: Is there a reason you chose a coined term for the company name?

A: The reason we didn't put a meaning into the name is because we cannot predict the changes that the future holds with certainty. Yes, HYBE is a music-centric company, but I believe, through various trials and integrations, we can expand our reach in order to grow. If we had specified something in our name, it would be hard to travel past that limit. We didn't want to set restrictions, knowing that we might undertake activities different from or unrelated to the company's original mission. Therefore, we chose the name HYBE to avoid being constrained by it and to keep our DNA while leaving room to change.
