Reuters reported that, as told by an Iranian official, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and nine others were presumed dead after the helicopter they occupied crashed. [note: Iran's Foreign Minister is also presumed to have perished in the crash.]

President Raisi was on returning to Tabriz after attending a completion ceremony in the east of Azerbaijan. 

According to reports, the helicopter flew in bad weather including heavy fog and heavy rains and crashed in mountainous area Dismar near Bazgun in central East Azerbaijan.

Iranian TV is reporting that there is no sign of life at the site of the crash. 

The helicopter crashed on 19 May.
