[NOTICE] Update on Legal Response to Artist Rights Infringement.

June 7, 2024

Hello, This is Source Music.

First, we sincerely apologize for any concern caused to the fans who cherish and love LE SSERAFIM due to the recent series of events.

Our company has previously informed you that we would be strengthening our legal response to protect our artists' rights, as we have determined that the indiscriminate malicious postings directed at LE SSERAFIM have reached a very severe level.

Accordingly, we have advanced the regular announcement scheduled for the first half of 2024 to inform fans that we are currently taking strong legal actions and to provide an update on the progress. We ask for your understanding as it took a considerable amount of time to prepare extensive evidence collection and submit complaints, making immediate updates difficult. We are conducting comprehensive evidence collection of malicious posts and comments across all channels, including domestic and international social media accounts and online communities related to our artists.
During this process, we have utilized all possible means to gather evidence, including reports from fans and the efforts of numerous professional personnel, including additional domestic and international law firms.

As a result, we have compiled a vast amount of posts and comments and submitted complaints to investigative agencies on charges of insult, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, and obscene use of communication media under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. We continue to gather evidence. All malicious slander, false information, personal attacks, derogatory terms, ridicule, and vulgar malicious comments are included as targets for legal action without exception.

The posts and comments subject to the complaints include those from portal sites and communities such as Naver, Nate Pann, TheQoo, DC Inside, Instiz, and Ilgan Best, as well as social media platforms. Complaints have also been filed with investigative agencies regarding malicious posts, comments, and channel operators on international platforms.

Here are the results of some of the ongoing complaints that have resulted in confirmed punishments. Investigations into suspects who posted malicious posts or comments on communities have been ongoing for a long time. The act of posting malicious content was found guilty, and multiple defendants were criminally punished with fines of up to 2 million KRW.

It takes a minimum of several months to over a year from the submission of complaints and investigations to legal rulings and case closures. We are continuously striving to eradicate illegal activities against our artists, even if it takes time. Complaints regarding infringements on the artists' rights will be dealt with strictly and without leniency, just as before.

We are always grateful for the love and dedication of LE SSERAFIM's fans. We ask for your continued active reporting and interest through Source Music's legal response account (protect@sourcemusic.com).

Source Music will continue to make every effort to protect our artists' rights.

Comments from theqoo don't have ratings.

-Good job, good job~~~~

-Including theqoo ㅋㅋ

-If you look at theqoo, it's full of people writing malicious comments pretending to be legitimate criticisms. I hope they get paid for crossing the line on a site where you sign up with your personal information. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ.

-Is it also a malicious comment to say they can't sing?

-As expected. Goodbye to all the haters on theqoo. We worked together to stop your malicious comments. ㅋㅋ

-Scream ㅓㅓㅓㅓㅓㅓヽ(´∇´)ノ (∇´ノ) ヽ( )ノ (ヽ´∇)

-There's no such thing as lack of skill in Le Sserafim. The malicious comments were too severe ㅠㅠ

-I'm another [group's] fan, but it was so harsh that I left a comment [telling them to stop] and they kept accusing me of being a maid lol.

-The malicious comments were too harsh, I hope they are punished for what they said.

-What's so annoying about theqoo haters is that if you tell them to stop, they'll turn around and pretend to be a fan.

-Try doing something about the hateful Youtube Shorts. They keep cropping up.

-There were a lot of posts that really crossed the line. Fighting~~~

-There's a lot of hateful comments on Youtube and Instagram. I hope they tackle those too.

-So the reason the company left the comment windows open for so long was to do this [note: refer to pic]. After they released the notice, they closed all comment windows so haters couldn't go back and delete their comments.
